Most people dream of having their wedding by the sea, with the bride in her white chiffon dress, cascading in the wind. There may be a slight sprinkle of ocean water that may gently drop onto the couple. But how about making a big splash and take the plunge deep down into the beautiful sea to express your vows. You'd be surprised how many people actually have their wedding underwater.
What an Underwater Wedding Entails
An underwater wedding is just that: a wedding ceremony that takes place underwater.
This intriguing concept is perfect for couples who want something unique and memorable. Whether you’re a snorkeler, diver, surfer, a lover of the ocean, or simply want an adventure, this is a great option to consider.
You will both usually have to wear masks and scuba gear, so you’ll need to make sure that you each get one that fits correctly. Having said that, a few scuba diving lessons would be necessary for those couples who aren’t divers, so that they can be comfortable underwater. Due to the masks on your face, the likelihood of being able to hear your vows under water is slim. Therefore the use of clip boards and markers will be needed to aid communication.
Some ceremonies have the couples standing up, especially if they are walking on the sandy floor on the deep blue sea. Most couples, however, find it easiest to kneel whilst underwater.
